About your new role
Our Casualty teams provide a full, expert service in defending public (PL) and employers' liability (EL) claims, across the private sector and the public sector. Weightmans' team is second-to-none in providing defendant litigation services in these and other specialist Casualty areas. We operate on a national basis with dedicated commercial insurance and public sector teams.
We are currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join our commercial casualty team.
Working in a team dedicated to some of our biggest insurer clients, you will be responsible, under appropriate supervision, for the day to day management of your own varied caseload.
You will also assist Partners and other team members in the defence of a wide range of claims, on behalf of various corporate bodies and their insurers. Tasks will include running and assisting with a large range of litigated casualty claims, dealing with Pre-Action Disclosure applications, Stage 3 hearings and Infant Approvals, preparing witness statements, undertaking legal and factual research, drafting instructions to Counsel and experts, preparing reports to clients, preparing for and attending court hearings, attending client meetings and responding promptly and accurately to correspondence and telephone enquiries from clients and other parties.
