Job summary

Canopius is seeking a Casualty Binders Claims Adjuster to oversee US casualty claims under delegated authority. The role requires technical oversight of liability, reserving and settlement strategies, while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across delegated portfolios.

The position involves collaboration with underwriting, compliance, actuarial and legal teams, performance management of DCAs/TPAs, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships within a hybrid London office

Qualifications

• Experience handling or overseeing US casualty claims, ideally within a binder or delegated authority environment.
• Strong understanding of liability coverage, policy interpretation and claims lifecycle management.
• Experience working with TPAs, DCAs or outsourced claims providers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage US Casualty claims arising from delegated authority arrangements, including third‑party liability, bodily injury, property damage, and related casualty exposures.
• Conduct coverage analysis and provide technical direction on liability, quantum, reserving and settlement strategy for delegated claims.
• Review and approve coverage positions, reservation of rights, declinatures and settlement recommendations prepared by delegated claims administrators (DCAs) or TPAs.
• Contribute towards day‑to‑day oversight and challenge of DCAs / TPAs to ensure compliance with claims handling agreements, service level agreements, and internal claims standards.
