Dumfries and Galloway Council is looking for Casual Waste Service Operatives in Stranraer. The role involves assisting with refuse collection and recycling services, requiring teamwork and a basic understanding of Health and Safety. Full training is provided, and the position is subject to vetting.

This is a multifunctional role within Waste Services. You may be called upon to assist in:
Our Waste Service operates within the communities across Dumfries and Galloway.
We are seeking potential candidates from our communities to work with us on an as-and-when-required basis to help deliver this essential service.
We provide a wide range of frontline services and require Waste Service Operatives at our Stranraer depot and household waste recycling centre.
You will be expected to carry out various duties as instructed by the Waste Services Supervisor. A basic knowledge of Health and Safety requirements is preferred. All roles involve outdoor work. Full training will be provided, and teamwork is essential.
This position is subject to vetting through Basic Disclosure Scotland.
Applicants should have at least Standard Grade Level education. A full, valid driving license is beneficial but not essential.
