We are looking for 2 x Casual Van Drivers: 1 for 1-2 days per week and 1 for evenings, 2-3 evenings per week, 12 hrs per week.

PURPOSE:

To ensure our food is delivered to our customers safely and in excellent condition, providing a remarkable customer-facing service in compliance with all legal requirements.

Experience:

Minimum of two years driving the relevant class of vehicle, ideally delivering in a multi-drop food delivery environment. Aged 25 and over for insurance purposes.

Skills:

Cat B Full Car/Van UK clean manual driving licence. Good communication skills.

Role Responsibilities
Operational Responsibilities
  • Read and understand the Driver Handbook.
  • Be responsible for your load, ensuring it is correct and safely stowed in the vehicle.
  • Be familiar with safe working practices, including risk assessments for all relevant activities.
  • Ensure you are equipped with and familiar in using relevant handling equipment.
  • Know the delivery schedule, including sequence and timings.
  • Plan your route for efficient and timely delivery, avoiding road obstructions such as low bridges.
  • Communicate promptly with the office about any delays or problems en route.
  • Take responsibility for unloading packages to customers, ensuring no damage and following delivery procedures, including returns and signatures.
  • Ensure the van reaches the correct temperature before starting the journey and report any issues during transit.
  • Maintain effective customer relations.
  • Physically capable of manual handling.
  • Have a flexible approach to working hours.
Business Responsibilities
  • Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, complete daily safety checks, and report defects.
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers’ Hours Regulations and Working Time Directive.
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations, including speed limits.
  • Maintain storage temperatures within safe permitted ranges.
  • Complete and return all paperwork at the end of each shift.
  • Drive safely and responsibly.
  • Report safety concerns or suggestions to your Supervisor, Manager, or Health and Safety representative.
