Job summary

Oakfield Park School in Pontefract is seeking casual teaching assistants to support children with severe and complex needs, including autism and challenging behaviour. You will work with teachers to tailor learning plans, assisting pupils across Thornes Park or Ackworth sites. Training in medical tasks may be required, with safeguarding checks and a Disclosure form needed.

Hours vary week-to-week. Experience with pupils with special educational needs is essential, and a proactive, self-motivated

Job description

Oakfield Park School is recruiting casual teaching assistants to support children with severe, complex needs, including autism and challenging behaviour. The work centres on delivering learning programmes tailored to each pupil alongside teachers, and successful applicants may need to train in medical tasks such as tracheostomy suctioning. Hours are not guaranteed, ranging from a few hours to several days a week, and the post may be based at either the Thornes Park or Ackworth site. Visa sponsorship is not available, and a Disclosure application is required.

• Willing to undertake medical training, including first aid, medication, tracheostomy suctioning, enteral feeding, oxygen and ventilation
• Open to training in autism, Team Teach and other complex needs
