Job Description:

Looking for a new challenge?

We are now looking for Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Central Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as St Albans, Welwyn Garden City & Hatfield.

We will provide 1:1 support to children and adults with congenital Deafblindness, supporting personal and social development and encouraging independence through access to activities.

You will receive specialist training in supporting individuals with dual-sensory impairments, often combined with other disabilities. No prior professional care experience is required!

It is essential for you to have a full UK license and your own vehicle.

We are recruiting for bank/relief Intervenors, with potential for permanent roles based on individual needs. Hours vary and are currently available in Central Hertfordshire. Please ask us about bank/relief work during your interview.

Are you interested in helping someone live the life they choose? If you can access the St Albans area for 2-4 hours per week, we would like to hear from you.

We support individuals with sensory needs, who enjoy sensory activities, problem solving, and independence in daily tasks.

Support is needed for specific children and adults, including:

  • Supporting children with play and learning, developing skills like turn-taking and independence.
  • Supporting adults with sensory impairments in communication and sensory exploration.
  • Supporting teenagers with activities like pampering and cooking, with opportunities to learn Braille.
  • Providing support for children during weekends and after school.

This role may include:

  • Supporting daily activities led by the individual.
  • Enabling independent living.
  • Supporting access to activities based on sensory needs, communication, and interests.
  • Personal care and hygiene.
  • Community outings for shopping, social activities, etc.
