Are you looking for a fun, rewarding role in a friendly & supportive environment where your job is to engage & inspire children? We are seeking highly motivated & enthusiastic playworkers to join our team.
Wokingham Borough Council is expanding its offer for children accessing the DfE funded Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) for children with SEND. The programme provides free fun activities and healthy lunches during Christmas, Easter, and Summer school holidays.
The main purpose of the Playworker role is to deliver a fun, caring, engaging, and secure environment for children aged 5 to 13 with SEND. This involves providing 1:1 support and assisting with organizing a range of appropriate and enjoyable leisure activities.
We are looking for candidates who have experience working with SEND children and young people. The role involves working 2-4 sessions per holiday week, but all applications will be considered. Whether you're a student seeking experience outside college/university hours, or currently work in childcare or education and want additional hours, we want to hear from you.
The hours are flexible within our operating times. Full training and ongoing support will be provided by the HAF Programme Manager, the SEND Project Co-ordinator, and the site lead. You will assist with daily operations, ensuring activities are delivered to high standards, and provide a safe and fun environment for children to explore and grow.
