General Trust Accountabilities:

  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust and its personnel.
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
Main Purpose of Job:

To provide sports coaching sessions within Schools and evening sessions for both male and female participants, children and young people. The post holder needs to be flexible and may work irregular hours (e.g. evenings & weekends) given the nature of the role.

Responsibilities:
  • To deliver a variety of multi-sport sessions professionally and with the flexibility to ensure all participants are offered coaching at a level appropriate to their ability and support needs.
  • Develop relationships with participants, teaching staff, support workers/carers, parents, and other key partners/stakeholders to ensure effective session delivery.
  • Provide feedback to teachers/coaches where appropriate. Ensure they are aware of any medical issues concerning the participants.
  • Keep up to date monitoring including registers, VIEWS database, risk assessments and any relevant reporting documents.
  • To access all quality assurance and staff training offered by the Trust during the term of employment.
  • To ensure all equipment is available and well maintained.
  • Actively promote relevant Trust offers.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of tournaments & events.
  • Understand and comply with the organisation's child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Abide by a professional code of conduct that emphasises appropriate behaviour when interacting with participants.
  • Follow established protocols for data protection and privacy.
  • Act as a point of contact in emergency situations, providing assistance and guiding individuals to safety.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities and emergency services as necessary.
  • Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in training sessions related to safeguarding and emergency response.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities or designated personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, concerns, and actions taken.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, clients, and visitors to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments regarding safeguarding matters.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to create a cohesive approach to safeguarding.
  • Participate in and stay up to date with relevant child protection training and workshops.
  • Ensure the safety of participants by providing adequate supervision during all sports activities.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies promptly, including administering first aid and following established emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incidents, and any concerns related to the well-being of participants.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 1 or above sports coaching qualification.
  • Safeguarding Certificate.
  • Emergency Aid Certificate.
  • Current DBS.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in delivering PE Curriculum Coaching.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Experience in planning and delivering sports activities, in curriculum-based PE and after school club environments.
  • Experience in understanding and commitment to physical education, sport and long-term athlete development.
  • Ability to travel to a variety of workplaces within West London utilizing own transport.
  • FA Level 2 Football qualification.
  • UEFA B.
  • FA Youth Modules.
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in delivering coaching sessions within a school’s or Football Development centres.
  • An understanding of the structure of School PE Curriculum.
