Job summary

Katherine Warington School in the Harpenden area is seeking a reliable Casual Minibus Driver to transport students between KWS and Consortium Schools. The role is casual, mainly morning and afternoon school runs during term time, with potential for ad-hoc trips, and requires a manual UK driving licence.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, log mileage, and communicate with the transport coordinator and school staff.

Qualifications

• Current manual UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience driving a minibus or similar passenger vehicle is desirable.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check due to work with children.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Excellent knowledge of the Harpenden area and routes is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Drive the minibus safely, legally, and courteously at all times.
• Student Safety: Ensure students are seated with seat belts and safe during boarding, travel, and alighting.
• Route Adherence: Follow designated routes and schedules accurately.
• Vehicle Checks: Perform daily walk-around checks and report issues.
• Documentation: Complete logbooks, defect forms, and mileage records.
• Communication: Maintain clear contact with transport coordinator, staff, and parents as required.
• Fueling and Cleaning: Keep interior/exterior clean and ensure the vehicle is adequately fueled.
