Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s School Catering Service is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant for Lancaster & Morecambe. You will help prepare and serve healthy meals and ensure pupils have a safe, positive lunchtime experience.

This casual role offers flexible hours, term-time only, with opportunities to work as needed. You will join a busy team, gain hands-on experience in school catering, and contribute to the health and development of local children.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food preparation is desirable.
• Reliable, able to work as part of a team and stay calm during busy periods.
• Good customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dining area.
• Assist with the preparation and cooking of food.
• Serve meals and drinks to pupils.
• Clear the dining area and put furniture away after service.
• Clean equipment, kitchen areas and dining areas.
• Help the team serve meals safely and efficiently.
