Job Description:

Rochdale Adult Care is pleased to offer an opportunity to undertake the role on a casual basis of an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Hours will be available predominantly across 5 weekdays within the core team hours of 8.30 to 16.45. It will allow the role to fit alongside studies.

This is an exciting time to join Rochdale as we continue with integration between health and social care, further developing our locality teams and services to meet the needs of communities in new and innovative ways.

This will be an opportunity for you to undertake a paid role within a Statutory setting, further developing your knowledge and skills around Community Occupational Therapy practice in a social care setting and Adult Care legislation & procedure while working alongside Occupational Therapists and other social care practitioners.

The successful candidate will work alongside our Occupational Therapist within the busy Prevention Service.

In order to undertake this role, there will be mandatory training that will need to be completed in addition to some ongoing training and development sessions to build your confidence and knowledge of the role and the Adult Care ICT systems.

We would encourage applications from people who are undertaking their Occupational Therapy Degree. Though this is not a specific requirement, we would also encourage applications from people with the relevant skills that can work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

If you are successful through the recruitment process, you will be contacted to determine your availability for the coming months. As this is a casual role, you will be paid for hours that you work each month, on submission of the relevant time sheets.

For successful candidates that are currently undertaking their Occupational Therapy Degree or Masters, upon completion of your course, there may be further opportunities to apply for qualified roles within the authority, following internal processes.
