Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council invites applications for a Casual Link Worker based at Castle Douglas Community Support Service. The role is Band 5, £15.35 per hour, providing direct developmental support to adults in their homes and in the community, with supervision from a Support Coordinator.

The post requires SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), a current driving licence, PVG scheme checks, and a willingness to work varied hours including weekends and nights as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting people with additional support needs (learning/physical disability, older adults, or mental health conditions).
• Must be a team player, committed to supporting people to live fulfilled lives and improving services.
• Desirable to use basic computer applications; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct developmental support to people in their homes to progress toward community opportunities and outcomes.
• Contribute to personal planning, reviews, and recording of information; participate in team meetings.
• Support the Enhanced Outreach Service and wider service delivery, including scheduling and reporting.
