Qualifications

  • Required to hold a current enhanced DBS check and renew every 3 years.
  • Ability to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of gymnasts and provide clear instructions.
  • Support gymnasts learning new skills and prevent falls.
  • Complete accident forms if an incident occurs and inform Duty Manager.
  • Maintain high energy levels and motivating body language.

Join our team as a casual unqualified gymnastics coach at Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre, which is one of the leading gymnastics facilities in the country.

To assist with running a safe, organised and high energy programme of gymnastics to enable learning and progression through fun and movement.

You will:
  • To ensure the safety of all gymnasts and make sure that they each have a clear instruction to participate in gymnastics, whilst being directly overseen by a level 2 coach.
  • Provide hands-on support to gymnasts learning new skills and to help reduce/prevent falls.
  • Ensure that matting and pits are used during learning phases and gymnasts are supported by strong physical planning and preparation.
  • If any accident occurs an accident form must be completed, and the Duty Manager informed to support with first aid.
  • Ensure you hold a current enhanced DBS check and have a new DBS check completed every 3 years.
  • Ensure energy levels remain high and motivating body language is portrayed at all times.
You will need:
  • A Level 0/ Helper Award Gymnastics Coach qualification.
  • To be a member of British Gymnastics and renew annually.
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance and have a new DBS check completed every 3 years.
  • To be able to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.
