Job description

A private co-educational day and boarding school in Dollar, Scotland, catering for 550 students and staff daily. We offer a core menu of lunch, breaks, and supper. This is a term-time only contract working 39 weeks a year, operating 7 days a week, with some ad hoc hospitality events throughout the year. An additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you as Casual General Assistant at our location in Clackmannanshire.

You should ideally have previous experience in a fast-paced catering environment.

You will enjoy your work, working with a great team for a company passionate about food and serving excellent customers.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Supporting the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, and cleaning.
  2. Preparing all service areas for the day's business related to meal service.
  3. Setting up, serving, clearing, cleaning, and storing food, beverages, or equipment for special functions.
  4. Preparing basic food items for sale or service, following hygiene and safety standards.
  5. Replenishing stocks and consumables during service, anticipating customer needs to ensure excellent service.
  6. Disposing of rubbish and recycling appropriately.
  7. Occasionally working evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
  8. Adhering to company food standards and controlling wastage.
  9. Following Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.
Skills required:
  1. Teamwork, good listening skills, ability to work independently, excellent personal presentation, hygiene, and professional behavior. A Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
  2. Adaptability, flexibility, reliability, honesty, and a customer-focused attitude.
  3. Willingness to learn new skills and take on responsibilities.
  4. Ability to handle moderate lifting, carrying, and pushing.
Knowledge and competencies:
  1. Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
  2. Good verbal and written English skills.
  3. Experience in customer service or food preparation is preferred.
