Job summary

Dignity exists to help families during life’s hardest moments with dignity and care. We are seeking compassionate people to join our team on a casual basis, supporting funeral services and behind the scenes.

This flexible opportunity fits around other commitments, with no minimum hours and full training provided. You will assist at services, bear coffins, drive specialist vehicles such as hearses, and support mourners with empathy and discretion.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Compassion, empathy and professionalism.
• Understanding the importance of presentation and discretion.
• Physically capable of manual handling tasks including lifting.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours, including short-notice availability.
• Comfortable with tasks involving direct contact with the deceased.
• No previous funeral care experience required; full training and uniform provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist at funeral services, bearing coffins, setting up venues and supporting mourners.
• Drive and operate specialist vehicles such as hearses and limousines.
• Represent Dignity Funerals with professionalism and empathy.
• Provide respectful, discreet support to families on the day of the service.
• Maintain ceremonial standards in appearance, conduct and service delivery.
