MAIN PURPOSE OF POST

The post holder provides invigilation for internal and external examinations at the school. The exam invigilator is responsible for collecting exam materials prior to the exam, distributing materials to candidates, supervising the exam for the scheduled duration, and returning all exam materials to the Exams Officer at the end of the exam.


MAIN DUTIES OF POST

  1. Assist in preparing the examination room/hall to meet JCQ requirements and ensure exams are conducted according to JCQ guidelines.
  2. Manage the assembly of candidates in an orderly manner, ensuring correct identification and seating.
  3. Brief students on exam conditions before the start of the exam.
  4. Supervise candidates quietly and unobtrusively during the exam.
  5. Open papers and authorized materials, distributing them in accordance with exam rules.
  6. Notify candidates of start and finish times, maintaining efficient timekeeping and recording times as per regulations.
  7. Respond to queries regarding paperwork and contact the examinations officer if concerns arise.
  8. Handle disruptions by contacting the examinations officer.
  9. Maintain exam conditions until all candidates are dismissed.
  10. Collect and collate examination scripts, ensuring secure handling and prompt delivery to the exams office.
