Job summary

The Kings Theatre Trust Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Casual Duty Manager to take full responsibility for the building, customers, staff and contractors during show mode. You will act as lead duty manager for scheduled shows and work closely with the Guest Experience team to maintain high standards of customer care.

This role is primarily evenings and weekends with casual hours. Salary is £13.91 per hour, and the closing date is Sunday 25 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in venue/hospitality or event operations preferred.
• Ability to supervise staff and contractors during shows.
• Strong customer service orientation and problem solving.

Portsmouth Theatres have a serious commitment to providing an outstanding audience experience for all.

We are seeking a Casual Duty Manager to take full responsibility for the building, customers, staff and contractors during show mode; by acting as lead duty manager for scheduled shows.

Effectively assist the rest of the Guest Experience Management with the practical operation of the Guest Experience Team. Ensuring that the highest standard of customer care is always delivered, whilst ensuring appropriate staffing levels across events and shows.

PLEASE NOTE THIS JOB IS PRIMARILY EVENING & WEEKEND WORK. You must be able to work those times to be considered for the role.

Hours: Casual

Salary: £13.91 / hour
