Job description

The Role


We are looking for a Community Health and Wellbeing Coach on a casual basis to support the delivery of our physical fitness sessions and health interventions across the local community, including the London Boroughs of Islington, Camden, and Hackney.


Arsenal in the Community is dedicated to improving the lives of our local community through these programmes. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering these programmes with energy and commitment, including walking football sessions for people with long-term health conditions.

Your day-to-day

  1. Deliver engaging programmes by planning and delivering health, fitness, and wellbeing interventions tailored to community needs.
  2. Manage and organise equipment, ensuring safe and proper use, and checking facilities before use.
  3. Maintain compliance with all health and safety, safeguarding, and emergency procedures.
  4. Drive development through professional development and building supportive relationships with participants.
  5. Adapt and deliver sessions suitable for individuals of varying abilities, backgrounds, and health conditions.
  6. Take lead on administrative tasks like updating registers, consent, incident, and outcome records.
  7. Uphold professionalism in all interactions with colleagues, participants, and stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in health and wellbeing, with a background in nutrition and fitness, preferably in community settings.
  • Valid certifications such as Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer, FA Level 1 and 2, First Aid, and Safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse age groups.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and emergency procedures.
  • An innovative approach to adapting exercises for different needs and medical conditions.
  • A passion for health and wellbeing, with a commitment to professional development.
