Casual Cleaning Operative | Preston and South Ribble

Salary: £12.00 per hour | Casual hours | Preston and South Ribble

International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship.

About the Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Casual Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties at Care Homes in the Preston and South Ribble area.

A flexible approach to work is required, as the successful candidate would be required to cover sickness, holidays, or provide support to meet additional service demands.

Lancashire County Council provides vital Residential Care Services to the people of Lancashire. These services provide a safe, secure environment that allows older people as much independence as possible while supporting a range of care needs. The Facilities Management team carries out cleaning and laundry services at all residential Care Homes and Day Centres. Keeping these buildings and personal possessions clean is critically important to everyone who uses these facilities.

High standards of cleanliness are expected, and prior experience is desirable; however, full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Duties:

  1. General cleaning, such as damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming, toilet cleaning, and washroom cleaning.
  2. Loading and emptying washing and drying machines.
  3. Rolling and pressing of laundry items.
  4. Storing of laundry items.

There are over 30 Care Homes and Day Centres across Lancashire. Successful candidates have the option to provide cover in several buildings in a catchment area.

Anyone applying for this post will be subject to Enhanced DBS checks. A formal offer of employment cannot be issued until DBS checks are successfully completed.
