*Please note this is a casual role focusing on the South West region. The successful applicant will be home-based with travel required across the region and to our City HQ in Manchester.

As a Casual Talent ID Scout, you will support the identification and assessment of youth players (U13 - U18) for CFG teams (Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City) and associated clubs (Yokohama F.Marinos, Shinju, Montevideo City Torque, Mumbai City, Lommel SK, Girona FC, ES Troyes AC, Palermo FC), as well as potential future clients.

Your Impact

  • Support UK and international Youth Scouting & Recruitment Managers in identifying and assessing youth players in domestic games and tournaments.
  • Build expertise and database of youth (U13-U18) market to supplement national knowledge.
  • Provide written performance reports from live games and video content to support talent evaluation.
  • Occasional travel for talent cross-referencing at national and international levels.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of players within CFG Academy age groups.
  • Contribute to projects supporting CFG teams and clients as needed.
  • Promote a positive market identity of City Football Group with stakeholders.
  • Support talent identification and recruitment with video content from live and video-based scouting.

What we are looking for

  • Knowledge of category 1-3 academy functions.
  • Understanding of PL Youth Development Regulations.
  • Familiarity with youth football at multiple levels in North West England.
  • Experience with industry-leading technology for talent identification.
  • Proficiency with IT software and scouting tools like Scout 7/Instat.
  • Previous scouting experience within a football league club.
