Job summary

Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge is seeking a casual Café Assistant to work evening and weekend shifts in our campus café. You will serve hot and cold drinks, snacks and light meals, keep the café stocked and tidy, and greet users with a friendly welcome while supporting the team to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Applicants should be over 18 due to alcohol licensing laws; training will be provided.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a casual Café Assistant to work various evening and weekend shifts in our café.

You will ensure the highest possible standards of food and drink service are achieved. You will prepare hot and cold drinks and snacks, be responsible for ensuring the Café is stocked and kept tidy as well as playing an important role in ensuring a friendly welcome to its users. Supporting the team, you will ensure a consistent level of customer satisfaction and process payment transactions. Due to the sale of alcohol, applicants must be over 18 years old to comply with alcohol licencing laws.

You will work to high standards, be of smart appearance, and be confident when working independently at times and have the ability to show initiative. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.

While previous experience in a customer facing role would be advantageous, full and comprehensive training will be given.
