Job Title: Bus Driver – Seniors’ Day Trips

Location: Bolivar Creek Retirement Residence by Park Place Seniors Living (Surrey, BC)

Reports To:Office Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable, patient, and safety-conscious Bus Driver to provide transportation for seniors on scheduled day trips and outings. The driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe and comfortable transport of residents to and from various destinations, such as parks, museums, shopping centres, and community events.

This role plays a key part in enhancing the quality of life and social engagement of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a 20-passengerbusfor senior residents.

  • Follow planned routes and itineraries for community outings, recreational day trips, and appointments.

  • Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those using walkers, wheelchairs, or mobility aids.

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.

  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the bus.

  • Ensure compliance with traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards.

  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, staff, and families.

  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and any incidents or maintenance concerns.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 4 Unrestricted BC Driver’s License (required).

  • Clean driver’s abstract (no more than one violation in past 2years).

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (required).

  • Minimum 1yearof professional driving experience, preferably with seniors or in a healthcare/residential setting.

  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).

  • Physically able to assist passengers and handle mobility aids.

  • Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.

  • Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.

Work Schedule:
  • Typically, weekdays, with occasional evenings or weekends for special outings.

  • Flexible hoursdepending on thecommunity's programming.
