About Alexandra Park Nursery School
Alexandra Park is a much-loved nursery school in Manchester providing children with an exceptional creative and child-focused early years education.

About you
You are a Level 2 or above qualified Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and were born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

(We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, so if you can demonstrate the necessary values and enthusiasm for working within this environment, submit an application. Nothing ventured nothing gained).

What you'll be doing
You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.

You'll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan. That will soon get completely derailed though. Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in childcare!

Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands-on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course, we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

What you'll need

  • A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. (We can sometimes consider unqualified Educators, as long as they demonstrate the necessary qualities, values, and enthusiasm for working within this environment. If you think you've got the right attitude and abilities, submit an application; who knows it might be the best thing you ever did. Nothing ventured nothing gained!)
  • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable.
  • Reflecting the Storal values around responsibility, openness, and working together.

What you'll get

  • Competitive rates of pay dependent on experience, qualification, and NMW age guidance.
  • Performance related bonuses.
  • 50% childcare discount.
  • Annual wellness day off.
  • Access to retail and other discounts through Perkbox.
  • 20 days holidays (plus bank holiday), increasing to 22 days after 2 years service and 25 days after 5 years service.
  • Dedicated learning and development support.
  • Access to one-to-one confidential counselling sessions through our Employee Assistance Programme.
