Job summary

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a Casual AMHP to join the Emergency Duty Team. The role covers annual leave, training, or unexpected absences and involves undertaking Mental Health Act Assessments out of hours.

The EDT provides an out-of-hours emergency social work service for CBC, BBC, and LBC. The successful candidate will work flexibly in a dedicated team, reflecting our commitment to safeguarding and diversity.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport.
• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Work England or equivalent approved roles.
• Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Mental Health Act Assessments out of hours.
• Support the Emergency Duty Team in emergencies and out-of-hours social care decisions.
• Contribute to safeguarding and protection of vulnerable groups during on-call periods.
