Primary duties include:

  • Ensuring safe airport refuelling operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with Aerodrome Licence including CAP 168, relevant sections of the ANO as relating to the role and all relevant sub-department regulations and policies, in addition to JIG whilst carrying out refuelling duties.
  • Liaising with business jet customers, based operators and the FBO Department for fuel requirements.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of any fuel spillages, accidents or potential risks in accordance with the airport policies and SMS.
  • Undertaking daily vehicle inspections to ensure that equipment is fully serviceable.
  • Ensuring the fuel farm is kept tidy and remains a safe working environment.
  • Working alongside the Airport Operations & Fuel Manager and the Deputy Airport Fuel Manager to ensure that fuel has passed all quality control checks in line with CAA and fuel company regulations prior to it being dispensed and taking receipt of aviation fuel deliveries from suppliers in accordance with CAA and local procedures including sampling, testing and petroleum regulations.
  • Issuing fuel receipts with costings on completion of refuelling tasks. This will include conversion calculations, deducing tax implications.

Due to the various type of vehicles used for aircraft refuelling, it is mandatory that applicants hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence.
