Job summary

Southampton Football Club seeks a Casual English Teacher to join the boys' Academy, delivering education sessions and supporting academic progress of the players. You will work under the Academy Education Manager to support the education programme and schoolboys while coordinating with the wider department.

Teaching hours are term-time only (September–May) and typically on fixed days, with occasional flexibility to accommodate football schedules. DBS Enhanced with Childs Barred List required.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching GCSE English.
  • Ability to teach 1:1, small group and large group sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach GCSE English and provide educational support within the Academy Education Department.
  • Deliver and organise education sessions and monitor academic progress of players.
  • Adapt delivery to football schedules while maintaining curriculum standards.

What is the role?

We are seeking a Casual English Teacher to work within the boys' Academy, supporting the delivery and organisation of education sessions and the academic progress of players.

What will you be doing?

You will be teaching and providing educational support within the Academy Education Department. Working under the direction of the Academy Education Manager, you will assist with the delivery of the education programme and progress of the Academy school boys whilst also supporting the wider arms of the department and organisation. Teaching hours are during school term time only (September-May), usually on set day/days with occasional flexibility required for changing football schedules.

Is this you?

You are driven and enthusiastic in your teaching methods, have excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in order to communicate with students of different ages and abilities as well as other teaching staff and members of the management team. We are seeking to recruit individuals who are subject specialists in English.
