A leading research and development organization in Coventry is seeking a Casting Project Engineer. This role focuses on improving turbine component design and manufacturing, emphasizing project engineering tasks. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent experience in engineering and strong problem-solving skills. A Research and Development organisation that aims to halve the lead-time for designing and manufacturing turbine components, develop novel techniques for future design styles and manufacturing systems, and accelerate cost reduction and casting yield improvement activities. This is an opportunity to work within a co-located design and manufacturing engineering team based in Coventry, in close collaboration with research engineers from relevant academic fields. In partnership with Consilium Recruit, they are seeking a Casting Project Engineer.

The Role
As Casting Project Engineer, you will conduct research and improvement activities related to the design and manufacture of turbine components. The organisation has state-of-the-art equipment for investment casting, machining, and advanced metrology of single crystal components.
Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for the manufacturing methods that meet component requirements and support process engineering and project delivery. While an engineer may focus on a particular process or project, support across functions is expected. This role emphasizes Project Engineering tasks.
Your responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, translating them into manufacturing methods, managing technical packages, planning, risk management, and cost control. You will also ensure validation and substantiation of components, manage non-conformance or quality issues to ensure compliance with specifications, and maintain safe manufacturing practices.
