We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Cash and Banking Manager to lead a core part of the finance department, overseeing daily cash operations and concession accounting, trade debtor reporting, and system optimisation. This is a key leadership role that ensures all cash and banking activity is accurately recorded, well-documented, and reconciled - supporting wider financial control and visibility across a fast-paced retail environment.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, you'll manage a team of two cashiers and act as the go-to person for all banking-related matters. You'll take full ownership of the end-to-end banking process, lead on corporate and concession debtor management, and work cross-functionally with stakeholders including FP&A, Retail Operations, and external banking partners.

Who you are

  • A finance professional with strong experience in cash and banking operations, preferably in a multi-channel retail or consumer-focused business.
  • Skilled in bank reconciliations, ledger management, and debtor reporting, with excellent attention to detail and process discipline.
  • Highly organised with a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for ways to enhance systems, documentation, and reporting accuracy.
  • Confident using finance systems (e.g. Microsoft Business Central) and banking platforms such as Barclays, Chase, or BACS.
  • A collaborative leader who can manage and develop a small team, driving accountability, development, and performance.
  • An effective communicator, able to engage clearly with stakeholders across finance, retail operations, commercial teams, and external partners.

What you'll be doing

  • Take full ownership of the end-to-end banking process across UK and international entities, ensuring all transactions are accurately posted, reconciled, and reported.
  • Oversee daily and weekly banking activities including reconciliations, discrepancy investigations, intercompany postings, and cashflow reporting in partnership with FP&A.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all banking platforms (Barclays, Chase, BACS) and serve as admin across these systems.
  • A collaborative leader who can manage and develop a small team, driving ownership, development, and performance.
  • Lead concession accounting: posting weekly invoices, maintaining control account reconciliations, and resolving any outstanding debtor issues.
  • Own corporate customer debtor reporting: including monthly aged debt reports, weekly sales reporting, and regular collaboration with the Corporate Sales Manager.
  • Drive improvements across systems and processes, creating clear documentation, identifying optimisation opportunities, and ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and company bonus.
  • Up to 65% employee discount.
  • Access to exclusive sample sales.
  • Enhanced parental leave policies.
  • Electric Vehicle scheme via Octopus Energy.
  • Cycle to Work programme.
  • Season ticket travel loan.
  • Plus further workplace benefits.
