Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) in Wales seeks a Band 6 Caseload Holder for Brynteg & Coedpoeth District Nursing Team. The role is 30 hours per week, working part-time within an integrated DN Team led by a Band 7 Team Leader.

Applicants must be an NMC registered nurse with district nursing qualifications or working towards Specialist Practitioner. Welsh language ability is desirable; applications can be Welsh or English.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a part time Band 6 Caseload Holder working 30 hours per week in Brynteg & Coedpoeth District Nursing Team.

Brynteg & Coedpoeth DN Team cover 8 GP Practices and are an integrated DN Team. The post holder will be responsible to Band 7 Team Leader.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication skills with an ability to provide effective, high-quality care.

The post holder must hold a Community Specialist Practitioner qualification and be a registered Nurse Prescriber. Applications will also be considered from Community Nurses who are currently undertaking or willing to undertake their Specialist Practitioner qualification in District Nursing.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and / or Knowledge
  • NMC Registered first level nurse
  • District Nursing / Certificate, diploma, degree or working towards
  • Nurse prescribing qualification or working towards
  • Evidence of ongoing education and professional development
  • Mentorship and assessment training
Desirable criteria
  • Management qualification e.g. ILM, RCN Leadership
  • Independent Prescribing - Following successful completion of the required qualification and annotation on the professional register, undertake Independent Prescribing (IP) for any medical condition within area of competence. Responsible and accountable for own independent prescribing practice in accordance with BCUHB Policies and Professional Codes at all times Maintain knowledge, skills and competency and elevate accordingly if outside scope of practice or competence
Experience
Essential criteria
  • Community experience as Band 5 or equivalent
  • Experience of working with patients who have acute / complex needs
  • Varied clinical experience and multi disciplinary working
