Greenvale is one of the UK’s largest growers and packers of fresh potatoes, supplying some of the country’s largest retailers and processors from our two production facilities. Our Duns site, based in the Scottish Borders is looking for a Cascade Operator. This role includes running the Cascade water plant and ensuring the site is at 3rd party and audit standards. The successful candidate will also be required to perform forklift duties on the Washlines.

• Location: Duns
• Reporting to: Engineering Manager
• Salary: £13.85 per hour
• Hours of work: Nights, Monday - Thursday, 18:00-04:30hrs (M-W) & 16:00-02:30hrs (T), 2x 15 minutes paid breaks & 1x 30 minutes unpaid break

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the constant operation of the Cascade System
• Ensuring regular changeover of chemicals and monitoring usage
• Operating the stone/potato separator as necessary
• Operating and cleaning the soil press
• Conducting regular checks e.g. HACCP, PH, temperature, water standard
• Reporting any issues to the Engineering Manager
• Undertaking forklift duties within the Washlines

Key Attributes:

• Valid Forklift licence of ITSAAR, AITT or RTITB standard
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Fault finding skills with the ability to perform route cause analysis
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
