Role Overview
As a
Carrier Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with logistics carriers, negotiating competitive rates, and driving innovative partnership strategies to optimize costs and increase business growth. You will play a key role in ensuring carrier performance while identifying new opportunities to enhance service levels and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with 15-20 logistics carriers and providers, ensuring international coverage.
- Act as the primary point of contact for carrier negotiations, escalations, and performance reviews.
- Foster long-term collaborations focused on mutual growth and operational efficiency.
- Rate Negotiation & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate carrier contracts, pricing structures, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Continuously evaluate and optimize carrier costs to improve the company’s bottom line.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Performance & Data Analytics
- Monitor carrier performance using key metrics such as on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and service quality.
- Utilize data-driven insights to recommend process improvements and strategic adjustments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure carrier performance aligns with business goals.
- Innovation & Strategic Initiatives
- Initiate, develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance carrier partnerships.
- Explore new technology-driven solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify trends in the logistics industry to maintain a competitive edge.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, finance, and technology teams to integrate carrier strategies with overall business goals.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Support the development of new logistics solutions and service offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in carrier management, logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in rate discussions and contract management.
- Familiarity with logistics technology platforms and data analytics.
- Ability to build strategic relationships and drive business growth through partnerships.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment
