Job Title: Carpentry & Joinery Technician

Annual Salary: Dependant on experience

Contract: Temporary until 19th December 2025

Hours: 37 hours

GI Group are seeking to appoint a Carpentry & Joinery Technician to support learners at our client based in Rotherham.

Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and competently.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are stacked and stored securely.
  • Issue materials and equipment from stores to workshops as needed.
  • Maintain all plant, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Prepare materials for use by teaching staff.
  • Perform general preparatory work for student projects.
  • Maintain all workshop areas in a safe, clean and tidy condition.
  • Carry out minor works depending on trade expertise and experience.
  • Receive and handle deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Follow safe working practices and comply with relevant Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students with due regard to the College\'s Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.
Candidate requirements
  • Relevant experience in the Construction Industry.
  • Craft Certificate (NVQ Level 1) or equivalent in an associated specialised construction trade.
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.
  • IOSH Managing Safely - Health & Safety Training - or willingness to work towards.
  • Level 3 Carpentry and joinery qualification.
