Job summary

The City of Liverpool College is seeking a Skills Development Coach focused on Carpentry and Joinery in Liverpool. You will inspire, coach and nurture apprentices across Construction trades, delivering in both workplace and workshop settings and travelling to employer sites as required.

Role requires Level 3 in construction trades, strong organisational and communication skills, and a willingness to develop safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in construction trades (Carpentry & Joinery) and plastering property maintenance.
• Experience in the Construction industry.
• Good organisational skills.
• Clear communication with students, employers and colleagues.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings.
• Holds a current driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Willingness to develop safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage relationships with local employers.
• Deliver high quality apprenticeships through workplace assessment and underpinning knowledge.
• Provide ongoing training and assessment to prepare learners for End Point Assessment.
• Screen potential employers to ensure obligations are understood and paperwork completed.
• Support employers to create opportunities for apprentices to develop skills and demonstrate competency.
• Recruit new apprentices by engaging with local employers, schools and events; manage caseload to hit targets.
• Complete Initial Assessment and Individual Learning Plans; review progress with apprentice and employer.
• Achieve targets within the timescales.
• Maintain progression and performance data in Smart Assessor system for apprenticeship delivery.
• Support Construction course review, lead internal verification and assist with external verification.
