Job summary

Randstad Education in South East London is recruiting a Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 training through practical workshops and classroom sessions. You will design schemes of work and deliver engaging materials that help learners progress toward qualifications.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years carpentry/joinery experience, strong communication, and solid organizational skills. A teaching qualification is desirable and there is support to pursue one.

Qualifications

• 5+ years verifiable carpentry/joinery industry experience.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Desirable but not required: FE teaching qualification (PGCE/DET) or Assessors/IQA awards.

Responsibilities

• Teach and assess Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry & Joinery courses across workshops and classrooms.
• Design schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials with accessible resources.
• Deliver regular tutorials to track learner progress, attendance and behaviour.
• Maintain workshop Health and Safety standards and compliance.
• Embed literacy and numeracy into practical lessons.
• Support college open days, recruitment and employer liaison for placements.
