Job description

Job Title: Carpenter Multi-Trade
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Sector: Property Services
Location: Hertford
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00
Salary: £36,000.00 per annum

We are looking for a skilled Carpenter Multi-Trader to join a dynamic maintenance team in Hertford. As a key member of the maintenance division, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry work and multi-trade services to local authority or housing association clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing a wide range of carpentry tasks within social housing properties, including framing, installing doors and windows, and building custom fixtures to meet specific needs.

  • Delivering multi-trade works such as basic plumbing, tiling, plastering, and painting to maintain and improve living conditions.
  • Completing reactive and planned maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments in both occupied and void properties, ensuring compliance with housing standards.
  • Assessing on-site issues and implementing practical, cost-effective solutions across various trades.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, subcontractors, and housing officers to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Communicating clearly and respectfully with tenants, understanding their concerns and ensuring minimal disruption during works.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment while adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations, particularly in occupied homes.
  • Managing daily schedules and tasks effectively using a PDA device to receive, update, and complete job orders in real time.
  • Operating and maintaining tools and equipment in good working order, following all safety and usage guidelines.
