Job summary

The Royal Engineers offer a Carpenter and Joiner trade path with extensive training from sketches to timber fabrication. You will learn to interpret drawings, operate workshop machinery, and prepare timber for use across building projects.

You’ll begin with military training and progress through specialist engineering courses, with opportunities to travel and gain hands-on experience in diverse environments. A strong emphasis on fitness, teamwork, and practical skills drives this apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Plan carpentry and joinery tasks from sketches and working drawings.
• Learn to use and maintain workshop machinery.
• Prepare timber and manufacture joints; use adhesives; fit doors, windows and internal joinery.
