Location: HMP Coldingley, Shaftesbury Rd, Bisley, Woking GU24 9EX

Salary: £36,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 39 hours per week, Mon-Fri (with on-call)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter / Locksmith to join our team at HMP Coldingley, a category C adult male prison.

Join a team that works Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment. The Facilities Maintenance Team is essential to the smooth and safe operation of the prison, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and ensuring safety and security.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Substantiated experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency with power tools and machinery

  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent experience
  • Strong health and safety knowledge
  • Excellent organizational and people skills
