Job Role - Carpenter

Location: HMP Erlestoke, Devizes. SN10 5TU

Salary: £36,678.26 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 39 hrs per week, Mon-Fri with on-call

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join our team at HMP Erlestoke, a CATEGORY C Adult Male prison.

Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to create a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Erlestoke functions like a self-contained city, and as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work will impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to making a positive difference.

Candidate Requirements
  • Substantiated experience in a similar role
  • Competency in operating all relevant power tools and machinery
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent, or substantial experience
  • Good health and safety knowledge
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
