Salary: £36,678.26 per annum + £1,500 per annum location bonus
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B adult male local prison. Our team works Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment for the men in our care.

The prison operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to function. Our Facilities Maintenance Team is dedicated to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Team and Environment

You will work alongside passionate colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Administrators, and Cleaners, all committed to making a positive difference. Working in a prison setting requires emotional resilience, the ability to work at pace, manage multiple tasks, and stay calm under pressure.
