Job description

Job Title: Carpenter in Somerset

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour (PAYE) – Reference: RQ1277393

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Work to a high standard, providing excellent customer service.
  2. Plan and manage workload to ensure timely attendance and completion of jobs, aiming for first-time right completion to minimize follow-up visits.
  3. Identify work required, select appropriate parts and materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards (e.g., fire rating, security).
  4. Measure and order stock needed for each job.
  5. Attend scheduled jobs within designated timescales.
  6. Prepare materials in advance for repairs and installations.
  7. Perform First Fix Carpentry (floor joists, stud walls, ceilings, flooring).
  8. Perform Second Fix Carpentry (door frames, doors, ironmongery, skirting, stairs, handrails, spindles).
  9. Kitchen fitting (both first and second fix), including plumbing work.
  10. Undertake repairs such as masonry, plastering, patch repairs, tiling, and painting (desirable skills).
  11. Ensure repairs meet letting standards and inform tenants of their responsibilities.
  12. Complete tasks with minimal supervision, maintaining accountability for quality and quantity of work.
Additional Information:

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
