Carpenter
Location: HMP Highdown, Highdown Lane, Sutton SM2 5PJ
Salary: £33,938.51 plus 5% for shift working to include weekends
Contract: Permanent, full time, 39 hours per week.

We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Highdown, a category C adult male training and resettlement prison.

As a Carpenter inc Locksmith, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference in providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Substantiated experience in a similar role
  2. Competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery
  3. Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  4. Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
  5. Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification
  6. City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience
  7. Good Health & Safety knowledge
  8. Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
