Job description

Ivy Resource Group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter with experience in passive fire protection to work across a wide geographical patch spanning the M4 corridor, South Coast, and South West. This is a mobile role ideal for someone based between Bristol and Reading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey and inspect completed and upcoming fire door installations.

  • Produce detailed checklists and reports to ensure contractor compliance with fire safety regulations.

  • Carry out remedial repairs to maintain regulatory compliance of fire doors.

  • Install FD30 and FD60 fire doorsets per manufacturer and legislative standards.

  • Conduct minor fire stopping and compartmentation sealing works.

  • Liaise effectively with contractors, store managers, and compliance teams.

  • Stay up to date with relevant fire safety legislation and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in fire door installation and remedial repairs.

  • Good understanding of fire door standards (BS 8214, BS 476, BS EN 1634).

  • Competency in compiling detailed, compliant surveys and reports.

  • Experience in fire stopping and compartmentation sealing (desirable).

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., FIRAS, BM TRADA, IFC) are highly desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

In-house training from a BM TRADA Approved Person will be provided.
