Job summary

Hill Care Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the cook with meal prep, cooking and service for residents. You’ll assist with special diets and ensure high-quality meals are prepared.

Full training will be provided; prior care experience is an advantage and a Food Safety Level 2 or progression towards it is preferred. The role involves supporting health and safety in the kitchen, attending mandatory trainings, and upholding the care centre’s values of Compassion and Respect while

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required or willing to work towards.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Satisfactory police check and POVA List checks where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses on or off site as required.
• Wash up after meals and ensure crockery/equipment are cleaned and stored.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Report illnesses or accidents to Home Manager or Person in Charge.
• Understand and implement the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy and procedures.
• Report faulty appliances or hazards to Home Manager or Handyperson.
• Promote safe working practices and maintain confidentiality.
• Notify absence in advance and ensure security of the Care Centre.
• Adhere to company policies and ensure equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Carry out any other tasks reasonably assigned.
