Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant on a Bank basis at Grove Park Care Home in Leeds. You’ll join a close-knit team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and laundry service for residents, following our procedures and hotel-style service.

Shift pattern 07:30–17:30, varying days as required. This role requires attention to safety and resident dignity, with DBS check provided by Avery and eligibility to work in the UK confirmed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety and COSHH assessments.
• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
• The ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understanding the cleaning requirements of different surfaces and coverings and the properties of cleaning materials, ensuring that all areas are well presented and maintained in good condition.
• Ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and that their personal space and belongings are always respected.
