Domestic Couple – Wiltshire (Nr Marlborough)
An experienced and caring domestic couple is sought to support a retired couple living in a beautiful village setting 15 minutes from Marlborough, Wiltshire. This post would best suit a caring, responsible, and dedicated couple who take pride in delivering high standards of service in a traditional country house environment. This is a full time role for the Cook/Housekeeper - partner could be part time helping in the garden and assisting with general maintenance
Key Responsibilities that can be shared between the couple:
• Preparing traditional home-cooked meals, mostly just for the 2 principals but occasionally visiting family or Sunday lunches with friends.
• Sourcing the best seasonal and local ingredients
• Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
• All housekeeping duties to a high standard: hoovering, dusting, polishing silver, laundry, ironing, and general cleaning
• Flexibility to offer light personal care - occasional assistance with dressing, organising medication
• Helping with general household maintenance
• Gardening Maintenance assistance (in collaboration with an existing part-time gardener)
Accommodation
• Private three-bedroom, three-bathroom flat provided as staff accommodation
• Pets and dependents welcome
Requirements
• A couple with genuine care and attention to detail
• One partner must be a confident, capable cook with experience in traditional British country house cuisine
• Both partners should be proactive, discreet, and committed to high standards
• One driver is essential although preferable if both drive
Working 5 days per week, generally Monday - Friday (flexibility to work approx 1 w/e a month when entertaining), max 40hrs pw.
Salary negotiable according to whether full or part time, around £70k gross pa pro rata
