Role

Caring Christmas Trees is a Bethany Christian Trust social enterprise that raises funds for the work of Bethany byselling Christmas Trees. The project runs annually and is intended to raise both awareness about the work ofBethany Christian Trust and the income to help us continue working towards our mission of ending homelessness inScotland, one person at a time.

The Caring Christmas Trees Administrator is positioned within the Fundraising Team and acts as the main point ofcontact for several internal and external stakeholders throughout the duration of the project.

We are looking for someone with excellent data management skills and a keen eye for detail. The role includesmaintaining an accurate database of customers, updating the website, and ensuring the smooth running of theproject. Our ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and customer service experience.

The successful candidate will be based at the Bonnington Road office, working full-time between mid-September 2025and mid-January 2026, including some evenings and Saturdays in December.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to oversee all aspects of volunteer engagement, from recruitment andtraining to the initial support of all volunteers within our services.

You will be responsible for:

Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database of volunteer information through our electronic file system.

Ensuring Bethany has volunteers that are well matched to Bethany’s current business needs and future development,through effective recruitment campaigns and individual interviews.

Overseeing and contributing to ongoing volunteer support and supervision for the purposes of good practice andvolunteer retention. This includes posting volunteering reviews and supporting managers and supervisors.

Reviewing volunteer systems, policies and administrative practices across Bethany with the aim of Bethany being atthe forefront of good practice.

Co-ordinating induction, training and ‘thank you’ events for volunteers in order to ensure they have the knowledgeand skills to undertake their roles safely and competently and due recognition is given to their contribution tothe success of Bethany.

Collaborating with external organisations, such as universities (for placement programmes), local churches, and JobCentres, to expand and diversify the volunteer base.

We are looking for an energetic candidate with excellent communication skills, who can use their own initiative aswell as prioritise tasks, and who has a real passion for volunteering.

The Rapid Re-accommodation Welcome Centre provides emergency accommodation with support to anyone who would otherwisebe rough sleeping in Edinburgh. We are looking for Project Workers to join the Welcome Centre:

Day Shift Project Workers (7.45am till 8pm, up to 39.375hrs a week)

Night Shift Project Workers (7.45pm till 8am, up to 39.375hrs a week)

The Day Shift Project Worker role involves working 12-hour day shifts (usually seven on/seven off). You will workalongside partner agencies to build support plans for individuals who are staying at the Rapid Re-accommodationWelcome Centre, to help move guests on to more suitable long-term accommodation.

The Night Shift Project Worker role involves working 12-hour night shifts (usually seven on/seven off). You will takedirections from the night shift team leader who will distribute tasks throughout the night. These can includesupporting volunteers as they serve hot meals to guests in the dining area, watching over the entrance to theRapid Re-accommodation Welcome Centre, looking after reception, answering guest’s questions and keepingpaperwork updated.

The post is for 32 weeks beginning on Monday, 22 September 2025, with a training week (weekdays, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm).The project commences on Wednesday, 01 October 2025, and ends on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.

We are looking for candidates with the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Experience in working with the vulnerable
  • An understanding of mental health and addictionissues
  • Ability to deal appropriately with challenging behaviour
  • An SVQ level 3 in Care/PromotingIndependence or equivalent is desirable
  • Administrative skills and experience in the use of MicrosoftOffice packages, especially Word, Excel and Outlook

We’re looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Fundraising Assistant to join the team at Poppyscotland on a 6-monthfixed term contract. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone who’s organised, good with people, andinterested in building experience across a wide range of fundraising activity. You’ll be supporting both theEvents and Regional Fundraising teams, helping to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and on the dayat events.

Poppyscotland provides life-changing support to our Armed Forces community which includes those who have served,those still serving, and their families. At times of crisis and need we offer them vital advice, assistance andfunding.

From answering supporter enquiries and preparing materials, to updating systems, managing stock and helping withincome processing, your day-to-day work will be varied and busy. You’ll also help support people who are raisingmoney for us whether they’re doing something on their own, taking part in one of our events, or joining anational campaign. You’ll be a key point of contact, helping them feel supported and appreciated throughouttheir journey.

There’s also an admin side to the role, including maintaining accurate records, producing thank you letters, raisingpurchase orders and working with the Finance team to make sure everything is up to date. Attention to detail anda confident approach to using systems like Excel, Outlook and databases will be important.

You don’t need to have done it all before we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn,and the ability to manage their time well. A full UK driving licence is essential as occasional travel will bepart of the job.
