Overview

JOB SUMMARY: Assist and implement excellent customer service within the cargo unit through the management and coordination of import and export cargo via the Cargo warehouse and truck servicing. Shift pattern: 4 x 4.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and allocate staff assignments.
  2. Maintain applicable safety and quality standards.
  3. Maintain good relations with customers and airport authorities.
  4. Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels, including team briefings, shift handovers, and one-to-ones.
  5. Report irregularities and take appropriate action.
  6. Ensure compliance with company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies.
  7. Supervise multiple teams.
  8. Perform any other duties as required.
  9. Ensure correct use of safety devices (including PPE), machinery, vehicles, and equipment by trained and qualified personnel, with regular briefings.
  10. Ensure team compliance with Swissport procedures.
  11. Escalate decisions requiring approval to deviate from procedures to the Duty Manager.
  12. Address and report incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, or conditions immediately within their area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership experience.
  • Ability to handle conflicts effectively.
  • Good understanding of clerical/reception functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic IT skills (Excel).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer-focused with quality awareness.
  • High standards in quality and service level agreements.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours.
