Caretaker - Ysgol Gymraeg Ifor Hael

Norse Group, in partnership with Newport City Council, provides contract cleaning and caretaking services across the local area. We are currently seeking an experienced Caretaker for Mount Pleasant Primary in Newport. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the site, cleaning, security, and other duties as required, such as:

• Checking the safety of the site and opening gates
• Managing heating and water systems
• Inspecting classrooms and boiler house
• Completing unfinished tasks and cleaning hall veins
• Ensuring main school driveway gates are closed during the school day
• Litter picking and bin emptying outside

Additional duties will be discussed during the interview stage.

This is a part-time, permanent position working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with shifts from 6:45 am to 9:30 am and 2:30 pm to 6 pm, except Wednesdays when shifts are from 6:45 am to 10:45 am and 2:30 pm to 6 pm.

Full training will be provided if needed. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in cleaning or janitorial roles
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage workload
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with the public and clients
