An established local authority school is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students with autism. Woodley School and College is seeking to appoint an experienced and capable Caretaker to work across our sites which consist of the main Woodley School and College site. Woodley Moor - a satellite provision in Crosland Moor and Blossom – our shop in The Byram Arcade.
The post will be a permanent position ideally working 35 hours per week Monday through to Friday (however this could be less hours over the 5 days for the right candidate should part time suit them better), this will include split shifts on some days, exact working pattern/hours to be discussed and confirmed between the team.
For a 52week full time contract the following applies:
During school holidays, hours are more flexible and can be arranged in discussion with the Business Manager and based on works required etc.
Annual Leave entitlement is 27.5 days + bank holidays. When you have completed five years continuous service you get an additional five days holiday entitlement. All holidays wherever possible are to be taken during school holiday periods.
Alternatively we could consider a term time option if required.
Woodley School and College is a Kirklees Local Authority special school for children and young people with autism aged 5-19.We are looking to appoint, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistants to join our committed and friendly team of happy and hardworking staff and children.
You will be someone who will share our vision for high standards in all aspects of school life. Particular emphasis will be on supporting learning and social and emotional needs, working alongside the class teacher. The ability to relate with children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal communication skills in order to liaise with children/young people and other staff members.
