Job description

Title: Caretaker / Janitor

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Caretaker to Join our Northampton Schools Account in Weston Favell Academy, Booth Lane South, Northampton NN3 3EZ - This role will be based on site.

The salary is £13.08 per hour

The hours of work will be 5:00pm - 10:00pm Monday - Friday

Amey manages facilities for 42 Northampton schools, ensuring safe, clean, and compliant learning environments for students and teachers. We deliver 24/7 services with minimal disruption, working in partnership to maintain high standards

You will be responsible for

  • Ensure smooth running of the school premises
  • Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (i.e., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
  • To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
  • Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
  • Checking the premises to guard against vandalism
  • Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards
  • Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

  • Knowledge and previous experience in practical DIY skills for minor repair
  • Good Team Player
  • Flexible with shift work
  • Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
  • Thisrole will also support both local and businesszero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in astrategicand lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
